What to Bring
Camera, sunglasses, sunscreen (no spray on please as it stains the boat), food and drinks, warm layer (it’s normally cooler on the water than the land), non-skid footwear with non-marking soles.
I have refrigeration on-board so a cooler is not needed. I also have bottled water on-board.
About your Time On-Board
Once everybody is on-board and settled, we will go over the safety procedures and then we will leave the dock. When we clear the marina, sails will be unfurled, and we will be under sail. At this point, any guest who wants to take the helm is welcome. No sailing experience is needed. In fact, you will get your first sailing lesson during this time. “Brizo” is a very stable boat and can handle all sailing conditions. I also keep the sail trimmed to reduce excessive heeling, which produces a more comfortable sail.
Bathroom
There is a small marine “head” on board. It is fairly rudimentary and can be difficult to access if you are less agile, as you’d need to climb down a small ladder to get to the cabin of the ship. We always advise guests to use the on-shore facilities before boarding, but the head is there in case of an emergency.
Those With Limited Mobility
There is handicap parking in the lower lot closer to the dock. The access from the dock to the boat is very easy, with just a step from the dock to the swim platform on the back of the boat. The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Children
Children are welcome ages 3 and up. I do not carry PFD’s for children younger than 3. Also is best to limit any cruise for 2 hour with children under 12. They tend to get board with the longer cruises.
Dogs On-board
Well behaved dogs are welcome. They should be use to boats and comfortable in all situations. I do not carry PFD’s for dogs so you will been to bring your own. It should have a handle on the top of the harness.
Parking at the Marina
There is plenty of free parking at the marina. When you turn off Thompson’s point Rd at the marina sign. Follow the access road until you see the Ship Store. There will be plenty of parking. On weekends and holidays, the parking lot can get full, but you should be able to find a place in the upper lot. If you have people with you have has trouble walking. They can be dropped off in the lower lot. Once you arrive, give me a call and I will come find you and direct you to the boat.
